Mixed media art from @Westerville Library’s Picture This program. This young artist really got into riddles (a prior week had focused on David Ezra Stein’s Interrupting Chicken, which led to many interrupting cow and chicken jokes … and so forth). This week focused on Melissa Sweet’s mixed media art work and we talked about how the words are part of the pictures (as in A River of Words: the Story of William Carlos Williams and A Splash of Red: The Life and Art of Horace Pippin).

I particularly loved this piece that mixed Harry Potter with Lord of the Rings and the classic white horses on a red hill. What creative minds kids have!
